Does OPC work through a router?
Typically OPC will work through routers with no problem. The exception is any router that provides NAT (Network Address Translation) services will stop DCOM from working. Typically routers on a LAN or those internal to a site/company do not use NAT. However WLAN routers or those that provide communication to the Internet will use NAT and will prevent OPC communications. An OPC Tunnelling product would be used in these cases.
