(Yarr)There be OPC in them thar hills
Posted on September 19th, 2006 by Eric MurphyAvast matey, Ise near forgot that today is International Talk Like A Pirate Day.  Thanks to Walt Boyes for reminding me.
How does this tie in with OPC? It doesn’t really, I just like the holiday, and being a native of the Maritime provinces I’ve been accused on more than one occasion of sounding like a pirate. Lard tunderin’ I dundt no’ what der at.
Actually, I think the OPC Foundation should adopt the Pirate Code of Conduct for those vendors who develop applications that do not meet compliance. I can see it now:
If any Vendor shall offer to sell, or create an OPC product not of Compliance, they shall be marroon’d with one Bottle of Water, one OPC specification and one OPC Compliance Test.
Wonder if it would improve product quality among some vendors?
Another interesting thing. This is a made up holiday (surprising isn’t it).  Seems anyone can make up a holiday.  I think we should make July 30th International OPC Day. (that’s the creation date on the OPC 1.0 specification).  Remember when Hallmark starts making the card you heard it here first.

I wouldn’t dream of making fun of you. Really. I’ll even refrain from commenting on the unnecessary zoom just before the ‘eyeball plant’ segment
